Custom software development: what we do

From mobile apps to cloud infrastructure — we build software that fits the way you already work, instead of bending your processes to fit the software.

Mobile app development for iOS and Android

We build your app with Flutter — a single codebase for iOS and Android — or with React Native, or fully native where the project calls for it. From time tracking with geo-fencing to a charging and electricity-price app, our projects have passed 500,000 downloads between them.

Backend development and APIs

Scalable backends in Go, .NET or Node.js, running on Google Cloud Run. We build the interfaces that connect your app to databases, third-party systems and standards such as DATEX II.

More on backend development →

Web apps and progressive web apps

Browser-based applications that feel like native ones, with no detour through an app store. Ideal for internal tools, customer portals and anything that has to run on every device straight away.

Native integrations and interfaces

When off-the-shelf plugins stop being enough, we connect Flutter straight to the operating system through method channels. Telephony, sensors, geodata and wearables such as Garmin all plug cleanly into your app.

About SB-Techworks

A direct line to the developer, not an agency loop

SB-Techworks is Karim Belkacem's software company in Regensburg, Germany. When you have an app built here, you talk directly to the developer who writes your code — not to a salesperson passing requirements down the line. That cuts out a layer of back-and-forth: answers on architecture, effort and feasibility come first-hand. Projects such as a time-tracking app with geo-fencing, a charging and electricity-price app built on AFIR data, a native Android auto-dialer and the Klaimo bike-tracking app add up to more than 500,000 downloads.

We work remotely with companies across Germany and beyond; on-site meetings are possible by arrangement. You get a transparent cost range before the project starts, agile milestones with a working build at every step — and when it is done, the code is 100% yours, repository included. We reply within 24 hours on working days, and the simplest way in is a free initial consultation.

Custom software development for companies in Germany and beyond

From MVP to complex app — with a clear cost range

Off-the-shelf software models standard processes. The moment your business works differently, the workarounds start: a spreadsheet running alongside the ERP, notes on paper in the warehouse, data re-typed between the field team and the office. Custom software development answers exactly that — an app or web application built around the way you actually work, instead of forcing your team into someone else's forms. That is what makes digitalisation measurable: fewer manual steps, fewer transcription errors, real-time data where decisions are actually made. And in a competitive market, it is rarely the product that decides the outcome — it is how smoothly the processes behind it run.

SB-Techworks covers the whole path: from the first idea, through an MVP that lets you test your assumptions on the market, to a complex app with a backend, interfaces and native integrations. We build mobile apps with Flutter — one codebase for iOS and Android — and use React Native or fully native code where that fits better. Backends run on Go, .NET or Node.js on Google Cloud Run, with web apps and PWAs for everything that belongs in the browser. Where standard plugins run out of road, we connect straight to the operating system through method channels: telephony, sensors, geodata, wearables. Our time-tracking app with geo-fencing and the Klaimo bike-tracking app were built exactly that way, and together with our other projects they add up to more than 500,000 downloads.

Geography barely matters for the way we work. We are based in Regensburg, Germany, and we work remotely with companies across Germany and beyond — short video calls, clear milestones and a running build at the end of every step, rather than hours lost to travel. You get one point of contact from first enquiry to launch — someone who writes the code, not a layer above it. On-site sessions for a kickoff or a workshop can be arranged whenever they add value; they are not the default, which keeps the day-to-day lean.

On budget we prefer straight answers to "it depends". An MVP or prototype sits between €2,700 and €6,000, a business app with a backend between €7,000 and €13,000, and complex apps start at €20,000. You get a concrete cost range before the project starts, and we invoice along agile milestones, so you can always see what your budget is buying. If you are looking for a mobile app developer in Germany, the free initial consultation is the easiest place to start: an honest read on feasibility, effort and cost — before anything is signed.

FAQ

Common questions about software development

What does it cost to have an app built?

It depends on the scope, but here are ranges you can work with: an MVP or prototype comes in between €2,700 and €6,000, a business app with a backend and user management between €7,000 and €13,000, and complex apps with a lot of interfaces start at €20,000. In the free initial consultation we narrow your project down together, and you get a concrete cost range — before you commit to anything.

How long does it take to develop an app?

That comes down to scope: a lean MVP is ready far sooner than a complex app with a backend and third-party interfaces — anywhere from a few weeks to several months. The rhythm matters more than the total, though. We work in agile milestones, so you get a working version early and see real progress at every step instead of a black box until release. You will get a realistic timeline in the first call.

How does remote collaboration work in practice?

We clarify the requirements on a video call, then work in milestones with fixed sign-off points. Every interim build lands on your device as a test version, and your feedback goes straight into the next milestone. We answer messages within 24 hours on working days — and you always speak to the developer, never to a project office. On-site sessions for a kickoff or a workshop can be arranged.

Which technologies does SB-Techworks use?

We build mobile apps primarily with Flutter — one codebase for iOS and Android — and use React Native or fully native code where that fits better. Backends are built in Go, .NET or Node.js and run on Google Cloud Run. Add to that web apps and PWAs, plus native integrations through method channels for telephony, sensors, geodata or wearables. The choice follows your project, not our favourite technology.

Who owns the code once the project is finished?

You do — 100%. Every right to the source code sits with you when the project ends, repository access included. You can develop the app further in-house, hand it to another team, or simply keep running it as it is — with no licence fees and no dependency on us. Code held back as leverage or a hidden vendor lock-in is off the table; that is exactly why we fix full code ownership from day one.

Do you build web applications and backends as well?

Yes. Alongside mobile apps we build web apps and PWAs that run straight in the browser with no app store involved — internal tools or customer portals, for example. And nearly every app needs a backend: we build the APIs, databases and third-party connections in Go, .NET or Node.js on Google Cloud Run. App, web and backend come from one place, which spares you the interface arguments between several suppliers.
